Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh! The sling is operational!
I COOKED FOOD AND HE SLEPT THE WHOLE TIME!!
He slept for the longest period out of today AND yesterday; in fact, he’s still asleep now. Isaac loves the sling!
I’m so very relieved. I was beginning to think there was no hope, but all seems well with the womb etc so I’m [...]

So here we are at the end of Isaac’s second week out of the womb and it still hasn’t really sunk in that I’m someone’s mother. Even typing it and reading it back sounds utterly ridiculous. I’m responsible for the well-being and development of a small person. Who let this happen?!
We’ve been out and about [...]

I’ve been thinking about this whole EDD (expected delivery date) business. How the hell can you tell when a baby is going to be born? Quite simply, you can’t. You can use statistics gathered by people over the years to hazard a guess, but there really is no dead certain way of knowing when a [...]

So I saw another different midwife today. She seems nice and has said that I can stay with her now rather than seeing someone different each time. She was actually pretty shocked that I’d seen different people each time.
I asked her about the possibility of a home birth. She was really excited about it! She [...]

I didn’t know what to expect from my midwife appointments, but now I know the answer is “not much”. I see her for all of about 15 minutes, if that and the midwife I saw last time has moved areas so I won’t be seeing her again. That’s all I’m going to say about that.
I’ve [...]

Today I went to see my midwife for my booking session. Simon and I had dutifully filled in our forms as instructed at the pre-booking session. I think this confused her slightly and apparently not many people do! I’ve never had a problem with peeing in pots, but for some reason this time I just [...]
